YOU'RE GONNA LOVE Palermo
Highlights:
- Arab-Norman Splendor: A UNESCO World Heritage site, the city features unique architecture like the Palermo Cathedral and the Palazzo dei Normanni, where Byzantine mosaics, Arabic arches, and Norman strength blend into a single style.
- The Markets: The heart of the city beats in its historic street markets—Ballarò, Capo, and Vucciria. These are sensory explosions of shouting vendors, fresh swordfish, and the famous Sicilian street food like panelle and arancine.
- Teatro Massimo: Italy’s largest opera house and a masterpiece of Liberty-style architecture. Its grand staircase and golden interiors represent the height of Palermo’s 19th-century wealth.
- Orto Botanico: One of the most important botanical gardens in Europe, offering a lush, silent sanctuary filled with giant Ficus trees and exotic flora brought to the island over centuries.

Pure philosophy! If you're looking for guaranteed fun, this is the right place. A young, invigorating, and therapeutic hostel. Julia, Andrea, Juan, and the team will do their best to meet your needs. It's a very welcoming place. They provide healthy food for you to prepare and cook. The kitchen is fantastic! It's the best hostel I've ever seen in my 50 years of traveling the world. It's like a party. I will definitely return with my children. We did yoga on the terrace. The best view ever. They have earplugs available, which should be mandatory in all hostels in the world. No curtains on the beds, shared room. This is something I miss in any hostel without curtains to sleep on, especially if someone is sleeping below. I prefer to stay on top of the bunk bed so I don't feel watched while resting or sleeping. I think it would be better to hire staff instead of looking for volunteers, as they don't seem very happy. There was no cleaning under the beds, and when I took out the drawer to pack my bags, it was full of dust. But this didn't bother me, as I didn't have any allergic reaction. Just so you know. On a scale of 0 to 10, I'd give it a 9.5. Don't look for a psychologist, look for Ostello Hostel... ooooommmmmm... shivamyogadublin @ Instagram
