A propos de l’Hostel
from 40 per night
Joy Hostel is a classic. Established in 2011 under a different name, the red palace on Calle Ulloa has witnessed the evolution of backpacking culture and has evolved with it.
Formerly known as “The Palace,” Joy Hostel Plaza de Armas is one of two locations in the chain, catering to travelers who value sociability and fun when choosing their accommodation. The hostel features comfortable rooms with at least one dedicated bathroom per dorm, a fully equipped kitchen for guests, a broad and calm coworking area, and a busy terrace serviced by an always happening bar for those looking for fun.
The hostel is just a 5-minute walk from Plaza de Armas, making it convenient for travelers exploring Andalusia by bus or coming from the airport.
All of Seville’s main landmarks are within walking distance: from the Setas plaza to the cathedral. Seville’s iconic Alameda, where all partygoers meet, can be reached in 10 minutes on foot, and the bohemian Alfalfa in 7.
The hostel organizes daily walking tours and pub crawls, enhancing its social culture, making it the perfect place for solo travelers.
Whether you’re on a quick break or looking for a base to work for a few days, Joy Plaza de Armas is the place to be in Seville.

The service was incredibly friendly! Alejandro was always attentive to our comfort, and the rooms and facilities were spotless and lovely. We'll definitely be back!

Hostel frequented by many young people; we had a room with a private bathroom and a very nice patio. We stayed 4 nights next to the main meeting room. The order of silence after 11 pm was often not respected.

Friendly hostel with a very nice rooftop bar and dining area. Clean rooms.

In my experience, this is the best hostel in Seville. I used to change hostels every day looking for a better price, but once I got here, I never wanted to go anywhere else. The pool is fantastic, the bar staff always have a smile, the cleaning lady is very nice and friendly, and the terrace and pool are... dreamy!! 🥰💫 I recommend it 100% 🙏🏼

The rooms are very large and clean, but there are no curtains on the beds (as shown in the online pictures). Each room also has its own bathroom, which can only accommodate one person at a time. The kitchen is well-equipped.

I confess I'm not a fan of shared accommodations, but this hostel was an extremely pleasant surprise! We stayed in room 21 with a private bathroom, and everything was impeccable: very clean, organized, and the neatly arranged white linens gave off a feeling of freshness. We had no problems with noise; by around 00:30, it was completely silent. The location is perfect, allowing you to do everything on foot. We had a delicious coffee on the corner, and although the hostel's breakfast could be more elaborate, it's still very worthwhile! The whole staff is really attentive and the reception is helpful, always willing to give great suggestions about the city. I highly recommend it and would definitely return!

First of all, the accommodation itself was fine and matched the description and photos on the website. However, I have a complaint that I made known on the day I left, at the airport; I only stayed one night. The thing is, the pool leaks paint and stains your swimsuit. Luckily, I had brought several swimsuits, otherwise, imagine what I would have done with my blue-painted swimsuit when I arrived at my destination. At reception, a guy and a girl looked at the swimsuit and spoke amongst themselves, but I didn't even get an apology or anything. I got home and calmer, so I was able to voice my complaints. I don't know how to upload the photos of the swimsuit.

A good hostel for sleeping, unfortunately there's absolutely no privacy at the bed, no curtains like you'd expect. We were in a 10-bed dorm, and one toilet with a shower is a bit of a joke. Everything is easily accessible on foot, and there's a small market right around the corner. The rooms and toilets were quite clean. The staff's service is excellent; they're friendly and quick to help.

We spent 3 nights unfortunately very noisy because of some groups. Very friendly staff and the location is very good next to the center

Very good service, the rooms and common areas are very spacious and comfortable, and the bathrooms are very nice as well. I recommend setting a time limit for quiet in the common areas. The night I stayed, there was a small group in the common area shouting and talking at full volume while we were trying to sleep in our rooms. I understand it's a hostel and everyone is responsible, but it was 1 a.m. and the noise was excessive. Anyone disturbing the peace at that time of night should be called out. Other than that, the service was very good, the reception staff was super friendly, and I have zero complaints.

Great hostel with a central location, not far from the city center. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The terrace and bar are perfect places to meet new people. In general, the atmosphere in the hostel is very pleasant and cozy; I highly recommend this accommodation.
RAONI LUDOVINO DE SÁ
The hostel is well located, close to the main tourist attractions. The room and sheets were clean. All the staff were friendly, always helping me with tips on what to eat, where to go and everything else. Especially Moacir (Moa) and Blanca. If you have any questions, talk to them.

Great hostel, great terrace with swimming pool. Pub crawl organized by the hostel is great. Drink prices are very reasonable. Paella at €5 on Saturday lunchtime

Top receptionists, top location, top atmosphere, I'll be back one day. The bartender Jesus is a great guy ✌🏾

A good experience. Excellent location, easy access to city attractions and transportation. Large room (female). Negative point: very small shower stall. Otherwise, I recommend it.

Simply WOW! Social hostel full of young people, clean, beautiful, organized, huge, a stu-pen-da terrace overlooking the rooftops of Seville also equipped with a bar that organizes different activities every evening. Well-kept common areas, full of young employees who make sure everything is perfect (and ready to make friends). We stayed in a female room for 8 with bathroom in the room, beautiful! Clean bathroom IN THE ROOM (toilet, sink and shower), room too, comfortable bed and overlooking a quiet street. I can't find any negative notes, truly everything is wonderful!

Well-maintained property, attractive shared spaces, comfortable rooms and beds, and an adjacent bathroom for guest use only, accessible with a room badge. Excellent Wi-Fi throughout. The top floor features a small pool open all day and a solarium area with tables and sofas. Breakfast, if not included in the price, is €4 with three options: English/Spanish/Healthy. It's not huge, but it's good and freshly prepared. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the city, with a bus stop just a few hundred meters away. Excellent experience.

Fantastic! 100% top marks! Everything was simply perfect: low prices, super helpful and friendly staff, great company, and a location very close to the city center and the Plaza de Armas bus station. It has a full kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, sink, pots and pans, and dishes. There's a small pool on the terrace and an excellent bar with three delicious and comprehensive breakfast menus for €4 (mine, for example, was cappuccino, eggs and bacon, and toast). The rooms have bunk beds with 220V outlets, USB ports, and a reading light. The only flaw is the lack of curtains, so if you're particularly concerned about privacy while sleeping, you'll want to consider this place. Highly recommended!

The hostel has great common areas for socializing, which really helps you get to know people and connect with them. The terrace is delightful and where we spent many afternoons. The bar always had good options, as did the breakfast. The shared rooms I saw were spacious and new. The kitchen had a good amount of space, with 3 refrigerators and was fully equipped for basic meals. The location is excellent. Close to everything, but away from the hustle and bustle of the cathedral. I stayed for a month in a private room (29) and it was excellent. They changed the sheets and towels every Saturday. The bathroom and shower were great. The staff were also always very helpful and kind: Olivia, Gledson, Rita, Andreia, the volunteers Lucas, Juli, Brian, Felipe, the cleaning ladies Eva and Maitê. It was an incredible experience and I highly recommend Oasis.

The rooms are very clean and spacious, however, the 12-bed room only had one bathroom. Towels are available for a €5 deposit; bedding is provided. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful regarding booking issues. The terrace and pool area were constantly packed and part of a party atmosphere.
