Ostello Bello Rome

I stayed here a few years ago and it's been my favorite hostel in all of Europe. The location is amazing and the staff are super friendly. My room had a private terrace and I loved that!!! When I arrived they gave me a free Aperol Spritz 💓

I spent two peaceful nights in a single room. The place was super clean and beautiful, and I was pleasantly surprised to find it was only 5-10 minutes from the Colosseum! Each evening they offered a complimentary light dinner to share with guests, and they had laundry facilities. The service was exceptional; I would definitely return.

Nice hostel, great location. The staff were excellent, all really cool, especially Jessi, Ella, and Phi. I don't remember the names of the others, but they were all very attentive and friendly. I stayed in a single room with a private bathroom, and the only downside was the bed, which was a bit uncomfortable. You could hear a lot of noise from the bar and people talking and walking (sometimes running) around the hostel, but they do provide free earplugs. Aside from that, my experience was very good, and I would definitely return.

My experience at Ostello Bello was excellent. The cleanliness is impeccable and the location is simply exceptional, allowing easy access to everything. I loved the fact that the hostel had a kitchen available for guests, with some basic ingredients always on hand; this made a big difference in my travel routine. The laundry facilities, social areas, and bar are also major pluses, making the environment welcoming and well-integrated. The breakfast is good and delivers on its promise. Another highlight is the level of organization: items such as earplugs, sleep masks, sanitary pads, disposable razors, and other essentials were always available free of charge, demonstrating care and attention to guests.

The place was clean and the service was pleasant. It's normal to share a room with other people who might not be quiet, but that's to be expected when you agree to share. Overall, it was a good experience. 😬

I recommend it once and a thousand times! My entire experience was wonderful. From the reception to the evening games for guests. Clean and very spacious rooms!!! The bathroom was also huge. I loved everything! I can't give more stars, so I'd give it 5 out of 5 in everything!!!

I had a single room with a relatively large bathroom and was satisfied with it. For the price, however, they could have, for example, repaired the hanging shower head or included a small refrigerator in the room. I really appreciated having a kettle. I loved the various activities offered each evening, and the staff were very friendly. I would have liked some group activities for exploring the city in the afternoons as well. The kitchen was sometimes left a bit dirty, but it was always well cleaned in the morning. It was great that there were free vegetables, pasta, and legumes available in the kitchen. A definite highlight is the rooftop terrace, which offers a beautiful view over the rooftops of Rome. As a woman traveling alone, I didn't always feel safe walking back to the hostel in the evening when it was dark - it's a very elegant and chic area, but because of the nearby park (during the day the park is beautiful and felt safe) there are also some "special" people on the way back from the Colosseum to the hostel - but if you go to the hostel via the main road it's not a problem.

Without a doubt, one of the best hostels. I loved it. My stay here was very pleasant. I also made some great friends at this hostel. They have a terrace where you can socialize and a kitchen to cook whatever you like. And the location was fantastic. You only had to walk about 10 minutes to see the Roman Colosseum. It was beautiful walking through the park and gradually catching glimpses of the Colosseum. This is truly a great hostel to stay in. Don't hesitate to book it.

I loved the hostel. It's close to the coliseum, the area is safe, the place is clean, and something I loved was the little table with tea, sanitary napkins, tampons, and earplugs. I love it! The only thing they let me down was that I ordered some nachos, and the cheese was practically nonexistent.

PT-BR - A great option for exploring Italy with good value for money. This Ostello Bello in Rome is near the Colosseum; you can walk or take a bus – it's only 2 or 3 bus stops. The metro is the same distance. There are also direct buses to the city center. Even a taxi ride cost 25 euros from the Trenitalia/Italo station, which is a reasonable price for Italy if you don't want the hassle of carrying luggage. It also has the advantage of being near a Mini Carrefour, which helps you save on breakfast. If you find the 10 euro breakfast at the hostel expensive, you can buy bread, Nutella, butter, and Nescafé cheaply at the nearby Carrefour. I've stayed at this Ostello Bello chain in Milan, Rome, and Naples and have nothing but praise. If you can, go during the off-season. During that time, if you booked a mixed dorm but there's space in a male-only or female-only room, they'll change it for you at no extra cost. If possible, book through their website, as they usually offer discounts during the off-season if you book online. At the time, there was a 20% discount for booking through the website. Now, if you book through Brazilian websites, the good thing is that some allow you to pay in installments, but then it obviously ends up being more expensive. The lockers for storing luggage are a reasonable size; they easily fit 2 airplane suitcases and 1 backpack. The kitchen provides free pasta, tomato sauce, and fruit! And there's a microwave, kettle, induction cooktop, and pots and pans. During my 15 days in Italy, out of the 4 hostels I stayed in, 3 were Ostello Bello; if I had known beforehand, I would have stayed in all of them.

Wonderful hostel, with mostly young, lively, cheerful, and very friendly people. Very friendly staff. Clean rooms. Very affordable price.

The best hostel in Europe! ❤️ The rooms are clean, well-decorated, and spacious. The common areas are very pleasant, especially the rooftop which is perfect for relaxing. The atmosphere is great, and the staff are warm and welcoming! I will definitely be back! ☀️

Its just a 5-minute walk from the Colosseum, this hostel is an incredible find with exceptional staff—especially Julia! It’s well worth the price. Guests get two free drinks (one alcoholic and one non-alcoholic), plus unlimited free water, coffee, and tea. The shared kitchen is stocked with free pasta, fresh fruits, and vegetables, making it easy to prepare your own meals. There are also additional free facilities, though I didn’t get the chance to try them. Beyond the amenities, this hostel is the perfect place to meet other travelers . If you're looking for a welcoming, social, and budget-friendly stay in Roma, this is the place to be!

It was my first time staying alone in a hostel dorm. For a hostel (in Rome), the room exceeded my expectations (obviously, it depends on your roommates). The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. I had to work remotely and found it to be a comfortable environment. They organize lots of activities, and even though I was alone, I was able to meet people to spend some quality time with. Excellent location, close to the Colosseum. Highly recommended.

The hostel far exceeded my expectations, to the point that I extended my planned stay. The staff is exceptional, quick and efficient in resolving problems. I loved it. The hostel also has large, beautiful and fun common areas, with entertainment happening all night. Super comfortable and ideal for those who want to meet people and make friends. The facilities are better than any hostel I've ever stayed in before. I liked it so much that after this one, I also stayed at Ostello Bello in Florence, Milan and Naples.

The rooms were beautiful, including the room with a private bathroom. It's a shame the light wasn't great, partly due to scaffolding for external work that prevented the shutters from opening. Clean and comfortable. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was limited... The price was a bit high considering towels and breakfast weren't included.

A fantastic hostel with incredibly friendly, attentive, and motivated staff. The location is outstanding (the Colosseum is right behind a park, about a 3-minute walk away), making even Rome's inexpensive public transport ticket unnecessary (I walked everywhere; it's about an hour's walk to the Vatican – the route takes you through the city's most beautiful neighborhoods with numerous cafes). Breakfast is good, a small buffet, and you'll definitely leave satisfied – tip: the coffee from the bar is worth it... Both the courtyard and the rooftop terrace are fantastic ("Jacomo!!") – the kitchen, which was stocked with cooking ingredients and essential spices (including delicious pasta) during my stay, is perfect! In the evenings, the hostel often puts out a pot of pasta (and pesto, for example) for self-service in the bar area (which was amazing on the day of my arrival). Minor issues were taken very seriously and resolved immediately – you can truly rely on all the staff. Thank you so much for a wonderful time in Rome!

+ Great staff, guests in their mid-20s to early 30s create a great atmosphere far removed from binge drinking. + I never felt alone. + Something is offered every day (family dinner, karaoke, etc.). + The bar and prices are reasonable. + The rooftop terrace is fantastic. + The courtyard is super cozy. + The single room is small but comfortable. + Great location. - No vegan options at all for breakfast, and generally, the breakfast wasn't great. It felt impersonal.

A really lovely hostel. The rooms are clean and relatively modern. The team is also incredibly friendly and helpful. The hostel is about a 5-10 minute walk from the Colosseum, making it a great base for exploring the city. The breakfast is good and the coffee is excellent. The bar also serves delicious drinks. We'd definitely stay here again.
