Retroverse Eccentric Stay

My stay at Retroverse was perfect. The hotel is spotless, well-organized, and has a great atmosphere—comfortable rooms, a cozy common area, and everything you need for a smooth and relaxing trip. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Excellent value for money, and I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the region.

We visited the hostel as part of a school trip. We stayed with 12 children and 2 accompanying adults. Personally, I was delighted with the quality of hospitality and the helpfulness of the owners and reception staff. I will definitely stay there again in the future, even if I travel alone. It's a wonderful and very fun place. The staff helped us a lot, we got everything we asked for immediately, while the atmosphere with the retro video games brought back beautiful memories of my childhood. Very clean too, with regular daily maintenance of the place. Five stars are not enough. Five stars are not enough.

I'm very satisfied. The service was great, everyone was very attentive and gave us tips on places to visit and how to get around. A memorable moment was when Athens had a storm and we got soaked by the rain; they gave us a hairdryer and offered clothes dryers, which was very kind. They also gave us a sandwich, which was great. We stayed in an 8-bed room, but only 6 were occupied. I found the room very good. The showers had great pressure and the locker system was also very good. We found the beds a little uncomfortable, but I think they were good considering the price, although an extra pillow could solve the problem. The beds also creak quite a bit, so if you move around a lot during sleep... sorry. Extra amenities like shampoo, towels, and hairdryers are much appreciated. The location is amazing. We walked everywhere in Athens from here. I think the only things that could be improved are the air conditioning, two pillows, and maybe a towel service, but I think that's asking too much.

Close to everything. Everything you need is available, and the interiors are very nice. As it's new and not yet very popular, the social life is a bit quieter. If they focused more on events, it would be amazing. The hostel staff are the friendliest and most helpful people I've ever met.

Everything was clean and new. Built in December 2024. A mix of nostalgia and modernity. The kitchen area is lovely. I stayed in a 4-bed room, highly recommend. Bonus tip: bring your sandals and earplugs in case of noise. There are curtains around the bed as well, so light isn't a problem. There are power outlets and lighting in the bed area. The room doors are card-locked. Very friendly staff. I had a great conversation with Johanna (I hope the spelling is correct), she was super friendly and gave me lots of tips.

This is the perfect hostel to stay in if you're over 50! It's incredibly clean and gives you the feeling of stepping back into the 80s. Plus, it's a very quiet place. I wouldn't recommend venturing out after 9 or 10 pm because there are a lot of drug addicts and junkies on the street. But if you're over 50 and like to sleep at a normal hour, this place is for you. The top deck is very nice to take and have a nice drink in the evening with a friend. The kitchen is also fantastic! Four retro fridges provide plenty of space to store your leftovers and there are two microwaves and two oven/stove combinations to heat them up or prepare your own food. It's within walking distance of some very good restaurants during the day, for sure! If my husband and I return to Greece, we'll probably stay here during a stopover in Athens before heading to the islands. But if we were staying in Athens for a while, this would be the only place I'd stay.

Perfect location, the Panepistimio metro station is an 8-minute walk away. The area is clean and safe, and all kinds of services are available. The hostel is great, the bed and room are perfect, with a lockable key for large suitcases. The facilities are also new and very clean. The place is perfect in every way.

It was an amazing experience staying at the hostel. The Retroverse female dormitory is extremely organized and the facilities are impeccable. Super new, with individual lockers, which makes everything very safe. The space is clean and the beds with pillows are super comfortable and actually spacious! I was very happy and would stay again. The staff is sooooo friendly, I met many wonderful people, thank you so much.

Loved my stay at Retroverse Hostel! It’s got all the chill vibes, retro flair, and comfy beds you could want. Super friendly staff, cool common areas, and the kind of place where "just one night" turns into "okay maybe three more." Clean, cozy, and just the right amount of quirky. 10/10 would vibe again. 😎

A truly fantastic hostel! Everything is clean and very modern. The large kitchen offers everything you need (refrigerator, toaster, microwave, various kitchen utensils, and much more). The dorms have their own private bathrooms. The common areas are stylishly furnished. All the staff are extremely friendly and incredibly helpful. Location: the "Omonia" subway station is only about a 3-minute walk from the hostel. There are a few shady characters around at night, but I never felt unsafe! There's always something going on. Even late at night, the bars and cafes are packed.

My son is traveling alone and wanted to thank them for letting him use their bed when he arrived at 5 a.m. and not having to wait until the 3 p.m. check-in time. This goes beyond excellent customer service; it's kindness, empathy, and human closeness. At the end of his stay, which had already been perfect: cleanliness, respectful staff, new facilities, etc., they called a taxi for him that took less than 5 minutes to pick him up, and thanks to all this, he made it to the ferry on time (he had overslept). I have no words to thank the staff at Hostel Retroverse, and I wish you continued like this and every success, because it's well deserved! Thank you!

I would definitely repeat my experience at this hostel. Clean rooms, air conditioning. Great service, good atmosphere, play area, privacy in the rooms. Good price.

Retroverse Hostel was a fantastic surprise! The rooms are modern, super cozy, and very clean – you feel right at home. The cleanliness throughout the hostel was also top-notch! I especially want to commend the friendly team at reception: always helpful, warm, and cheerful – you can tell they work with passion. The common areas are stylish and inviting. The only minor drawback: the location is just okay – a bit outside the city center, but easily accessible by bus or train. Nevertheless: Highly recommended!

New and super clean place. It's not very big but it has everything for a pleasant stay. Centrally located and well-connected, although the neighborhood isn't the best. Very friendly staff and the best towels I've ever used!
