Roberta’s Society is a place to stay, eat, and gather.
Housed in a former library from the 1930s, we’ve kept the character and filled it with new energy. High ceilings, quiet corners, shared tables, and spaces made for both connection and retreat.
We’re right in the heart of Aarhus – just a 10-minute walk from the train station, and steps away from cafés, shops, and the city’s everyday rhythm. Easy to arrive, easy to explore, easy to feel at home.
A home for travelers, locals, the in-betweeners, and the just-passing-through. Book a room. Or a bed. Join a communal dinner. Or don’t. Grab a coffee, stick around, see what happens.
There’s always something going on — screenings, talks, yoga, slow mornings, late nights. And down in the basement? Roberta’s Stage. A small club with a big heart. Live acts, listening sessions, small gigs, big energy. Sometimes it’s a DJ and a full room. Sometimes it’s a quiet performance you didn’t see coming.
Roberta’s Stage isn’t about the line-up. It’s about the mood. Come down, lean in, let the night unfold.

I stayed there for two nights and was satisfied. The staff is very friendly and I felt very welcome. There's a large bar with sofas and tables, which gives it a luxurious feel! The atmosphere is welcoming and inviting. You can't hear any noise from the room. Room 206 was on two floors (with a bathroom on each floor), so there were three mezzanine levels per floor, which was very convenient as I didn't feel cramped (especially since some beds were unoccupied). The room was clean. I liked that the lockers locked with the room key card. The bathroom is very good, however, you need to be careful when directing the shower so that the water doesn't overflow and wet the floor. Two things I didn't like. First, we had to pay for the sheets, something I've never seen before (I paid €7). Obviously, nobody brings their own sheets to sleep in a hostel. Having to pay to store luggage doesn't seem fair to me. It would be good to change the pillows. Mine were in terrible condition.

Good hostel, central location, good price, bar service not very cheap. Personally, the only negative point is that on New Year's Eve they also organized a party for outside visitors, which changed the hostel concept a bit. It would have been ideal to organize a party for guests.

Very accessible, comfortable, and beautiful. The facilities are very new and clean. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly. The only thing I didn't like very much was that the dormitory and bathroom doors are very noisy, and since there are many guests, the noise of the doors closing is constant, which means waking up early. Also, having to make your own bed isn't very pleasant, and it was a new experience for me (and I've stayed in many hostels).

I spent two nights in a dormitory. The beds are large and comfortable. The sleeping area is quiet. The small curtain on the bunk bed provides privacy. The bathrooms are adequate, but there is no shower gel available. The showers only have a simple curtain, which makes it difficult to store your belongings if you want privacy. The locker (which can be locked) is relatively large. Sheets and towels are not provided (there is an extra fee if you don't bring your own). The hostel's architecture is very beautiful, a very pleasant atmosphere!

Overall, this is a great hostel for the price. However, I stayed in an 8-bed dorm in the basement and it was super hot inside, even with the windows open. It would be nice if there was an air conditioning system. The room lights are also sensor-controlled. For some reason, they stayed on all night, making it a little difficult to sleep, even with the curtains closed. The staff were friendly but could have been a bit more attentive to requests. The facilities were super clean and there was a very nice work area if you need time to focus on your laptop. There are lockers in the rooms and the common areas are super cozy! One small drawback is that you need to bring your own sheets for the bed or rent some at reception. This means you also need to make your own bed. I've never experienced this in any previous hostel stay.

Overall, a very pleasant experience, but the room was basic. I stayed in a double room with an en-suite bathroom and shower. Not even a desk in the room. Exactly as in the photos. If you want to open a laptop, you can do so in the common areas, which are very pleasant, or in your bed... Breakfast was good. I had it three times and it was the same every morning, with no variety. If I stay again, I might have breakfast outdoors occasionally. The bar/lobby and canteen are nice, the food I tried from the menu and the IPA on tap were good! The staff were polite and smiling. On my last night, there was a show in the park outside my window until midnight; part of the Aarhus Festival, which runs for the next 10 days. Consider a room facing the other way if you need to go to bed earlier during the festival days. No other complaints. I will consider staying here again next time.

Great stay with a welcoming and cozy lounge. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served on-site, and there's a new little event for hostel guests every evening.

We stayed in a private double room, which was very quiet and functionally furnished. The bathroom is large, although the shower is a bit small. It was mostly clean, although my pillowcase was slightly stained. The lobby is nicely decorated, and the food from the cafeteria is okay, but nothing special; however, the price is reasonable. Recommended for anyone looking for something affordable in a good location for a few days.

Nice place.

I slept in a large dorm room. It was nicely and functionally furnished. It was also great that the beds had curtains, providing some privacy. The staff is very friendly, and the food is unusual but good. The lobby is busy around the clock, and pleasant, chill music is playing.

Excellent location, room practically brand new. Self check-in. However: - Poor soundproofing; you can hear a lot of traffic and people walking in the hallways - the Wi-Fi code isn't mentioned anywhere. I had to request it on hotels.com, and the first code provided wasn't correct - no hairdryer - a code would have been preferable to Bluetooth access, which requires an internet connection - a code would have been better than opening the door via Bluetooth, which requires an internet connection

The location is perfect, the rooms have comfortable beds and are quiet. The staff is incredibly friendly! We'll definitely stay here again!
