Ostello Bello Bologna

I stayed for two nights and had a truly excellent experience. The location is perfect, a 10-minute walk from Bologna Centrale train station, making it very easy to explore the city. The room was very clean and spacious: I stayed in a five-bed room with two separate bathrooms, which was very convenient. The beds were comfortable and the property was, in general, well-maintained. A big plus is the staff: they do a great job, are kind and helpful. They gave me a towel, a padlock without a deposit fee (which was returned at check-out) and even let me store my luggage for free after check-out so I could explore the city. The common areas are numerous and well-equipped, with foosball, board games and a relaxation area with a shared kitchen where it's easy to meet other travelers. I definitely recommend it and would be happy to stay here again. PS: They offer a complimentary cocktail.

A very pleasant and comfortable hostel/hotel, right in the city center, but in a quiet and mostly residential area. I stayed in a triple room, which was basic (for example, no TV), but clean. There was plenty of space for the two of us, but I think three people (especially three adults) would be ideal. The bathroom was very spacious and clean, but lacked some storage options (there was only one hook for hanging towels). Overall, the property is well organized and very suitable, especially for young people. The breakfast was a bit basic and nothing extraordinary. The four stars are due, among other things, to the excellent price.

Staying at Ostello Bello was the best hostel experience I've ever had! Everything was spotless! Everything was very clean and organized at all times, and the facilities were great. They have a large and lovely kitchen for several travelers to cook at the same time. And the hostel volunteers were so much fun! They made each night very lively, with a different activity every day! I love Ostello Bello!

I loved this hostel and didn't want to leave. The rooms had everything we needed, including a curtain for the bed. The included coffee, tea, fruit, vegetables, towel, and drink made this hostel truly charming. The atmosphere is welcoming, inviting, and social. The shared kitchen is spacious and has all the necessary amenities. There's a nice outdoor terrace, in addition to the dining area and lounge to relax in. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

The best hostel experience ever! The kitchen is cleaned daily, as are the rooms and bathrooms! The kitchen was a highlight for me, with pasta, fruits, vegetables, oils, and spices available in abundance! The appliances are well-maintained and clean! The pots and pans were also great! What a thoughtful gesture for travelers! Exceptional maintenance! I loved cooking in the kitchen. Overall, the atmosphere was very welcoming! They invite you to participate in the evening activities! The staff is amazing, helpful, cheerful, and very kind: Angelica, Gabriel, Nelson, Annie, Laura, Zoe, Andrea, and Federico.

I've traveled the world, and this is the first place that truly ticks all the boxes: excellent service, impeccable cleanliness, organization, logistics, and a very positive atmosphere. The staff is exceptional. The kitchen is spacious, stocked with plenty of ingredients, and has a perfect space for cooking and eating. Plus, it's very reasonably priced and conveniently located near the city center. If you're looking for something affordable and delicious, I wholeheartedly recommend this place. It's undoubtedly the best place I've ever stayed.

The best hostel I've ever stayed in! It's beautiful, the facilities are gorgeous, and the atmosphere is fantastic. Everything is spotless. There's free food and other things, which is a huge plus! Plus, the kitchen is fully equipped. The location is also excellent, a great spot between the train station and the historic center. The staff is incredibly friendly. Shoutout to the volunteers Daniela and Gabriel, who made the activities a fantastic way to connect with other travelers. And to the bartender Federico, who was so kind and gave great tips for experiencing Bologna like a local.

Amazing hostel. The rooms are great, the facilities are great, the staff is excellent, and they have such a positive energy that creates a really nice atmosphere. There are always activities to socialize, and they even gave me a free beer. Oh, and the kitchen is top-notch. They have food available, so you don't even have to go to the supermarket. They have everything you need to make pasta, sauces, rice, and preserves. Excellent.

We had a double room. The price is fair, and the rooms are very nice and clean. The hostel offers a shared kitchen where all the necessary items and food are free. So you can cook together, or you can meet other travelers and chat in the common room on the ground floor. Overall, it's a really great concept with fantastic staff, especially advantageous for backpackers and Interrail travelers on a budget. The staff were also friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back :)

We stayed at Ostello Bello for three nights and it was perfect for that. The city center is within easy walking distance, the hotel is modern and nicely furnished, and the bed is very large and comfortable. Most importantly, the staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful! Breakfast was always delicious too. Thank you so much!

The following reflects my subjective opinion based on a visit in September 2025. Furthermore, the statements only refer to the parts of the room I actually used! TOTAL: 4.3 out of 5 stars 5* Cleanliness 4* Hygienic cleanliness 4* Functioning technology 4* Air conditioning (no TV) 3* Amenities 4* Price 4* Location 5* Friendliness 4* General comfort 3* Quiet (at night) 3* Breakfast (no Parking) Special features: Good location, only about 150 m from the first good restaurants and 300 m from the first tourist attractions. The furnishings are in very good condition but appear spartan (e.g., no wardrobe, no TV), which is part of the hostel's concept. The building was a regular hotel until recently and is currently (September 2025) still being renovated. This means that, depending on your luck, you will get a fully renovated room or one that is only partially renovated. For example, my bathroom hadn't been renovated yet, but that wasn't a problem because the bathroom was in very good condition overall. The air conditioning can only be set within a limited range, a little (three or four degrees) cooler/warmer than outside. Fortunately, it can be left running even when you're not there, so the room is still comfortably warm. The room window can be opened, but opening it isn't advisable at all times because it can be quite noisy outside – even at night. Inside the hotel, it's very quiet from 11 pm onwards. Of course, this also depends on the other guests. The double bed is very comfortable and has two single mattresses. Breakfast isn't included in the standard price and has to be booked separately. It's very basic (e.g., no rolls, only toast), but it's perfectly adequate. The hostel's concept, which focuses entirely on young travelers, is particularly noteworthy. Various free services are offered, such as washing machines, a communal kitchen, and much more. Furthermore, many everyday necessities are also free, such as coffee, water, fruit, sunscreen, umbrellas, and so on. Whether this concept will continue beyond the current introductory phase remains to be seen.

Fantastic experience! The facilities are beautiful and pleasant, the staff is amazing, always smiling and happy to help. They make you feel right at home. Especially Andrea at the front desk. Game night and activities were great. Lots of amenities and the food is top-notch! 100% recommended 😊🙂

I discovered Ostello Bello Bologna quite by chance while browsing their website – and what a wonderful surprise! The prices are even lower than on Booking.com, which is fantastic. The warmth and friendliness of the staff are simply outstanding. You immediately feel welcome and well taken care of. The location is absolutely perfect: quiet and peaceful, right in the heart of Bologna's beautiful historic center and just steps from the train station. This allows you to explore the city at your leisure while still having excellent transport links. Ostello Bello Bologna is already the third Ostello Bello in Italy – and I'm sure many more will follow. A definite recommendation for anyone looking for charming accommodation with top-notch service!
