What to do in non-vegan-friendly places?
While it is relatively easy nowadays to travel as a vegan there are still some places where there might not be vegan restaurants around every corner. In these cases and also if you are looking to save money it is best to just buy fresh produce from local markets/supermarkets and use them to cook your meals! For this, you will need to make sure that your accommodation includes a kitchen, and you are good to go.
Here you got some tips on cooking while traveling

Cooking while you are traveling is not the same as cooking at home, you have to consider that you can´t just buy everything in bulk and you may be met with new conditions every time you change location. I have collected some tips to help you make the process somewhat easier!
1. Find other people to cook with (vegan while interrailing)

Group of people at dinner
When you stay at a hostel this one should be rather easy. You can pitch the idea to people with relative ease. It is cheaper than cooking just for yourself and it is also a super cool way to make new friends! Otherwise, this one might be a bit more difficult but you can also ask strangers if they want to cook with you!
2. Leave your leftover groceries for the next guests (vegan while interrailing)
Many hostels combat food waste by allocating space for leftovers and groceries that everyone can use. This way you are not wasting food and may even save some money yourself!
3. Buy local and seasonal ingredients (vegan while interrailing)
Fresh vegetables
Buying local and seasonal food can give you a more authentic and local experience. You may also be able to save money as in-season and local products did not have a long way in terms of transportation. It´s also better to shop like this for the environment. You do not need special vegan sausages or impossible meat to make a good nutritious vegan meal!
Where to stay during your Interrail trip
Staying at a hostel is in my opinion one of the best ways to travel the world. Unfortunately, not all hostels are gonna be a guaranteed good experience. Europe´s Famous Hostels aims to change that. Staying at a famous hostel means staying with the best hostel in town. Our members are regularly checked for quality standards set by Europe’s Famous Hostels.
