We have something in hand for everyone: vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free… you name it.

Our first true “Cheap Eats” Spot: Bacareto da Lele in Venice
Location: Fondamenta dei Tolentini, 183, 30100 Venezia VE, Italy
Opening hours: Monday – Friday from 6am – 8pm and Saturday from 6am – 2pm
We’re starting off strong with a true hidden gem. If it ever gets crowded, it’s only because the locals keep coming back. The sandwiches are amazing and super affordable. The same goes for the drinks — Aperol Spritz, Prosecco, and wine, all for around €2. Honestly, it doesn’t get any cheaper. In addition to that, its perfect location in the Old Town of Venice makes it a great Cheap Eats spot for a quick lunch.
Kick the night off at Al Mercà
Location: Campo Bella Vienna, 213, 30125 Venezia VE, Italy
Opening hours: Monday – Saturday from 10am – 2:30pm and 6pm – 9pm (Friday and Saturday until 9:30pm)
Almost all sandwiches here cost just €2, and the atmosphere is especially great at night. A glass of wine starts at only €2.50, and if you can’t decide which one to choose, the owner will happily propose something that pairs perfectly with your sandwich. I highly recommend this place for a pre-drink before heading out: it’s super affordable, perfect for getting something in your stomach and embarking on the adventure of the night. From there, nothing can go wrong.
Romantic evenings at Al Squero
Location: Dorsoduro, 943, 30123 Venezia VE, Italy
Opening hours: Monday – Friday from 11am – 9pm and Saturday from 10am – 3pm
This restaurant is popular for a reason: enjoy freshly made cicchetti and great cocktails while overlooking the scenic views of passing gondolas. The intimate, cozy indoor setting allows guests to truly appreciate the beauty of the city. On the menu, you’ll find delicious seafood and beautifully prepared vegetables, all served on fresh bread. This Cheap Eats spot in Venice doesn’t feel budget-friendly at all; in fact, it’s quite the opposite: a delightful dining experience that blends traditional flavors with a modern twist.
Our leisure dinner spot for Cheap Eats: Osteria al Portego Venice
Location: Calle de la Malvasia, 6014, 30122 Venezia VE, Italy
Opening hours: Every day from 11:30am – 10pm
If you’re craving a proper meal and want to sit down to simply enjoy great food, this is the place to go. The restaurant is well known for its seafood risotto and the savory Tagliatelle alla Busara di Scampi. However, you can never go wrong with their cicchetti either. The staff are happy to help you find the perfect wine pairing to accompany your meal. And don’t miss their delicious desserts — a must for anyone with a sweet tooth.
Something for everyone at Soul Kitchen Cafe
Location: Viale Stazione, 38, 30171 Venezia VE, Italy
Opening hours: Every day from 7am -10:30pm
Looking inconspicuous from the outside, this might just become your new favorite Cheap Eats spot in Venice for breakfast. Start your day with a typical Italian combo of cornetto e cappuccino. Another thing I really appreciate is that it’s only a two-minute walk from Anda Hostel. So if you come back exhausted after a long day exploring the old town of Venice, you can enjoy a delicious dinner here and fall into bed right afterward.
I absolutely adore that they take care of anyone: their menu includes vegan and gluten free options.
