Five Elements Hostel Leipzig

This hostel comes highly recommended. With a good breakfast and comfortable rooms, it offers excellent value for money. They also provide great advice on what to see and do in and around Leipzig. And they offer 24-hour check-in!

We shared a capsule as a couple, since we were out and about all day. It was very cozy and, while a bit snug, spacious enough for two people. We booked a week in advance and paid a very reasonable price. The soundproofing is only semi-effective; you can hear noises from outside or your neighboring capsules. The bathrooms were cleaned daily, but occasionally looked a bit messy due to heavy use. The staff is very friendly. You get a lock for the lockers for a deposit.

Our first time staying in a hostel. We were very surprised and satisfied. The room was perfectly fine, with a spacious bathroom and, most importantly, surprisingly quiet. Centrally located! A 15-minute walk from the train station, right in the pedestrian zone, great location, very friendly and attentive reception, good places to go out, see and eat, and drink nearby. Unbeatable price, separate showers, unfortunately only one toilet per floor. Not a problem for sleeping in.

Simply a really good hostel. If you adjust your expectations accordingly, then this place is fantastic! The price-performance ratio is perfect for the location and quietness right in the heart of Leipzig's city center. Sure, the walls aren't spotless, because it's still a hostel and not a 4-star hotel (a few toddlers or something have expressed their creativity with pens), but the beds and bathroom are clean. The location is excellent for anyone wanting to stay in Leipzig for a few days. Logistically speaking, everything (even outside the city center) is easily accessible from the main train station or Augustusplatz by tram/S-Bahn. And it's a maximum 15-minute walk to both. Perfect, then. The only downside is that the elevator is broken. This means you have to climb about six flights of stairs to get to the third floor. 🏃‍♀️

Cleanliness was good. Unfortunately, the whole place is very cramped and misleading. A maze with poor signage. At 6:30 a.m., there was a fire alarm. Everyone out. If there had actually been a fire... Hallelujah. Apart from the siren, no one came through to check if everyone was outside. Pure chaos. Very inconvenient. The elevator was broken. The toilet and showers for the room were one floor up. A heads-up about this beforehand would have been great. I hung my towel up to dry... stolen... may the thief choke on it... In the middle of the night, there was another drunken rowdy... Apparently, hostels attract these kinds of jerks... The breakfast selection was meager, but "okay." It wasn't anything special.

Whenever I go to Leipzig I stay with them, it's a lovely place with young people working in a very good mood, the facilities are great, I usually stay in a private room for 2 or 4 people and I have never had any complaints, everything is clean and with all the comforts.

Surprisingly good for the price, the 4 people room was big so we had a lot of space; everything was clean, including the bathroom and sheets. I did think the room was a bit cold and there are no heaters. The shower and warm water worked just fine. it's a 5 minute walk from the Leipzig Markt, really central. I would definitely stay here again. Also they have a cool bar with acceptable prices and a courtyard and the people in the reception are really nice!

Stayed for 2 nights. One of the best hostels I've ever stayed in for convenience. The building is charming, and the atmosphere in the bar is very youthful. Highly recommended.

The hostel is in a great location. Towels and sheets are provided. It's a bit noisy given its location in the city center (so there's noise from the restaurants and bars in the square). I recommend it.

Great hostel in a central location

It's a great hostel with plenty of rooms and a fully equipped kitchen. The downside is that there's only one bathroom per room. On the plus side, they have a happy hour with beer ranging from €0.50 to €2. The guy behind the bar speaks many languages and provides excellent information.

I stayed at the hostel for six nights in an 8-bed mixed-gender room with a private bathroom. I honestly don't have anything bad to say. The room is large and perfect for everyone. It has lockers that you can lock with a padlock, which you have to bring yourself. The bathroom is also large and has a place to put your things when you go to shower. Overall, it's super clean. The kitchen is very well equipped and has several tables to sit at. I definitely recommend the hostel and would stay there again. The downside is that there's no air conditioning in the rooms and the Wi-Fi is pretty poor.

Excellent hotel, good accommodations, great breakfast at a good price, well located, close to the metro station.

Clean, comfortable, and super central, just 30 meters from the bar street and 100 meters from the market square. It's great that the bathroom is in the room. The only downside was the night receptionist; he truly lived up to the stereotype that Germans are cold!

They're very kind and the location is perfect. It can be a little noisy some nights, but to make up for it, they offer dinner on Wednesdays! Fantastic!

It's the best hostel I've ever stayed at. The staff are top-notch, and the facilities are modern and functional. There's a friendly atmosphere, but no teenage partying. It's a perfect place to come for work or vacation when you're looking for peace and quiet. Impeccable.
