Cats Hostel’s best facilities and activities
One of the best features of Cats Hostel’s in Madrid, is the patio. This spectacular 17th-century Arab-Andalusian-style patio is located in the heart of the hostel and has a stunning fountain right in the middle. Depending on the day, you can relax, enjoy historical heritage, or join an enormous party with your fellow travellers.
Another place to socialise and have fun is the hostel’s in-house bar. With the best Spanish sangria, Madrid beer, special shots, and a lot of space for you and your friends,.
The most unique thing about this hostel is the place we call «The Cave,» which is another chill zone by day and transforms by night. Experience concerts, flamenco shows, speed dating, jam sessions, or themed parties there. Hostel party animal guests can participate in the Pub Crawl activities to experience Madrid nightlife to the fullest!

They were very kind and gave us all the information we needed. The only downside is that Metro Line 1 is always crowded and has no air conditioning in the summer.

Amazing hostel. Clean, great atmosphere, great activities, drink specials, overall it has very a welcoming vibe. 13 euros for a night is super cheap compared to most of Europe. I couldn’t recommend this place any more! The staff are lovely too. Hope you get to meet Marian & Avaro!!

I stayed there for two days and can highly recommend it. Irene Ro, Alvaro, and Marian at reception were very friendly and helpful, and the hostel's main room looks fantastic. The hostel offers many deals and great events.

I spent one night before a sports competition in Madrid. In a 12-person dorm. The hostel is really good. It's clean (including the bathroom and toilet), and air-conditioned. During my stay, people were respectful of the noise. The staff was welcoming. I recommend it.

Unique location, logistically perfect! I stayed in the Cats Student Residence, just steps from Gran Via on one side and Sol on the other. Clean, tidy, quiet, and very central. What more could you ask for?

We booked this hostel for a school group from the United Kingdom. We were twelve children and two teachers. The service provided by Yosmari, Ana, and their team was excellent. They were attentive throughout our three-day stay. The six-person dorms (we had two) were super clean, modern, and spacious. Each bed had its own duvet and Wi-Fi, as well as its own shower and bathroom. The teachers' dorms were also excellent. The breakfast was very good. The hostel's location was perfect for all our outings: the Reina Sofia Museum and Retiro Park. Finally, we must say that we felt very safe and well looked after. These are two very important characteristics when traveling with a school group. Therefore, we recommend this hostel for groups large and small. Thank you, HostalCats Madrid. We will be back!

I left my heart in this place, where I went for a short getaway with some friends. Sure, the rooms are very basic, but you can't expect much more from a hostel. My only criticism is that the room doors don't provide any insulation from outside noise, and in the morning you're constantly woken up by people outside (considering that the first-floor rooms overlook an internal courtyard). Otherwise, I'd come back tomorrow!

Our stay was saved by dear Sergio! An excellent and very friendly night receptionist! Furthermore, the shared mixed room is good, with heating, a comfortable bed, and a secure locker with an electronic key. I recommend it!

A good hostel for solo travelers looking to meet people. They have parties every day and a cool bar. For those looking for single rooms, it might not be the best choice if you're looking for a lot of comfort. There are only single beds (so it's not a good option for couples), and the private bathroom is outside the room. The private room I stayed in had no window, and the ceiling was very low near the bed, so we had to be careful when getting up. The location is excellent: safe and close to restaurants, subway stations, and tourist attractions.

I stayed for 3 days and had no problems whatsoever, not even with noise. It was a great stay, it was cheap and in an amazing location in Madrid! The bathrooms have hairdryers, several showers and toilets, and all with doors for greater privacy! It was cleaned every day. The beds had lights and power outlets, and there were safes under the beds. They also have parties every night. It was my first time staying in a hostel and I loved the experience.

Great hostel. The staff is welcoming and responsive. The premises are clean and well-maintained. Ideal for a weekend with friends.

Cheapest hostel in Madrid, super central location, a few minutes walk from Puerta del Sol. The rooms are clean and warm, the showers too, the bathrooms a little less, I recommend paying a little more attention. The hostel is large and well organized. I recommend the free walking tour every day at 11.15 am and the breakfast for €3.5. I appreciated the fact that each bed had two sockets to charge your phone (one of which was a USB) and that there was a shelf to put things on. Comfortable bed. Luggage storage service for only €2. Towels and phone NOT included. 24-hour check-in service. The only negative thing is that when I arrived I wasn't told there was a kitchen and it wasn't even reported on the Hostelworld website and I only discovered that there was on the last day, even though there are very few plates, glasses etc., really too small for such a big hostel.

The room is good, and the locker is secure and has an electronic key. The only thing missing is curtains for more privacy. The hostel has a great atmosphere, and they host several daily events for guests. There's a bar and kitchen areas, and they provide breakfast for rates ranging from 2 to 7 euros.

It was my first solo travel experience and I couldn't have dreamed of anything better. The location is perfect; I did almost everything on foot. Plus, it's great for meeting people with the many activities on offer.

A very nice, affordable hostel for group trips and school trips. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect, and getting there from the airport via metro is easy. We highly recommend this hostel.

The place is super nice aesthetically, however the private room for 2 without window or VENTILATION (although we did it the room smelled very empty and bad: however no dirty things in it or wet towels that we had taken care to put in the private bathroom which has a VMC). There are dispensers if small thirst during the night and what to wash your clothes as well as a kitchen area. As in all these places despite the passage of the maintenance agents the hostel is always a little dirty: cups lying around or pieces of toilet paper on the floor because the residents are not very respectful. Moreover it is very complicated to rest at night or in the morning because of the noise and the doors slamming (poor insulation and disrespect of the residents): but hey it is a youth hostel not a 3 star hotel.

Good value for money Nice bar with a Happy Hour every day from 7:30pm to 8:30pm Nice breakfast that is worth it for only €2 The rooms are basic, but there is what you need, the cleanliness is rather average nevertheless. The hostel is rather well located in the city, not far from the Prado Museum and the Puerta del Sol
