Destination Porto Santo

This is an excellent place for solo travelers looking for a clean and friendly place to stay. I stayed in a bed in the shared room for 3 nights. It was comfortable, I had privacy in bed (as it has curtains), and everything was clean and tidy. The shared room has a shared bathroom, and there is a second shared bathroom that can be used by any guest (both have showers). The toilets were clean and perfectly functional. The shared kitchen is also spotless and allows you to cook and prepare breakfast or other meals, as it has all the necessary utensils. In addition to the stove, there is also an oven and microwave, as well as a large shared refrigerator. I noticed that there is also a barbecue, so I assume it's possible to have a barbecue. The space is well decorated and pleasant, including a common indoor area and an outdoor area with a table and chairs, clotheslines, and space to store a bicycle. It is possible to rent a bath towel for an additional fee (€2.50) and charge your bicycle for a single daily fee. The people who work at this accommodation are impeccable, helpful, and super friendly (a special thank you to Sofia and Fernando). The location is excellent for those who want to be in a quiet place with a beautiful and tranquil view and beach. The public bus stop is a few meters from the accommodation, as is a restaurant/bar (O Calheta). The accommodation is also easily accessible by bicycle, as it is located next to the main road, which is mostly flat from the center of Vila Baleira. I highly recommend it!

Nice hostel right on the beachfront. It's located 5km from town, although there's a restaurant 200m away. We stayed in a lovely glamping tent.

Peaceful atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff, the only thing to point out was the logistics. When I arrived, I was given a bed that wasn't even prepared for me, and the same thing happened to everyone else who arrived in the following days. On the 5th day of my stay, they were supposed to change the bed linens, but that didn't happen! It has everything to be a 5-star accommodation, they just need to improve maintenance and these continuous errors! Despite that, it's a place I highly recommend, a really good atmosphere and I will definitely return! Special thanks to Sofia and Chris!

Incredible find! I'm very picky about accommodations, and I initially had some doubts about this place, but it offered a truly authentic experience that connects you with Porto Santo Island. Everyone was so friendly, and the staff was amazing and competent. We stayed in a glamping tent, and it was a great decision—it was very well-equipped! The beds were incredibly comfortable, and everything was close to the sea. It's the perfect place if you want to relax and escape the chaotic outside world. I would recommend it a thousand times over, and I'm sure I'll be back!

Friendly hostel, friendly staff. Very close to the beach. We stayed in a 10-bed dorm with a shared bathroom. Super calm and quiet environment. Shared kitchen with all amenities, including a refrigerator. There are no supermarkets nearby. Breakfast is available, paid separately. Some drinks are available for purchase.

We highly recommend this hostel to everyone! We stayed in the glamping tent with a sea view to celebrate a very special occasion—our 7th anniversary—and it was simply magical! ✨ From the moment we arrived, we felt that everything had been prepared with great care. The tent with a view was beautiful, comfortable, and welcoming. We were greeted with a surprise in our room that touched us deeply and made the moment even more memorable. Breakfast was another highlight: incredibly fresh ingredients, freshly baked bread, and everything served with friendliness and attention. The experience of having everything prepared on the spot made us feel truly welcome. Although the island is already special to us, this stay showed us a new way to enjoy what we have nearby. The hostel exceeded all expectations. The hostel also has parasols, bicycles, balls, and some toiletries available for guests, which made us feel at home. We especially want to thank Sofia Lage, who was impeccable in everything! She always made us feel comfortable, answered all our questions, and suggested incredible places to have dinner and activities to do. She is undoubtedly an excellent professional. Extremely dedicated, available, and always with a smile — as is the entire team, who are super friendly and professional. A big thank you for providing us with such a wonderful experience! I will certainly repeat the stay in the future!

We came to celebrate our 7th anniversary with a glamping night at Destinations Hostels — and it was an unforgettable experience! 🌅 We chose the glamping with sea view and breakfast included, and we were surprised by the care and attention to detail from the very first moment. Upon arrival, we had a surprise in our room that thrilled us, and the breakfast exceeded all expectations. Everything was fresh and high-quality: the bread was warm and fluffy, and the fact that they cooked it for us on the spot gave it a very special touch. We felt truly pampered. We already live in Porto Santo and this island is our refuge, but this stay made us see the destination in a new light. The quality of the hostel was a pleasant surprise. We want to give a special thank you to Sofia, who was tireless — always attentive, helpful, and exemplarily professional. Her kindness and that of the team made this experience even more special. The hostel itself is lovely. The room we shared was large and comfortable, however, it was very damp. You could smell the dampness as soon as you walked in, and it was unbearable while trying to sleep. The service is very friendly and accommodating. The staff are always there for you. I would have given them more than 5 stars if it were possible. The hostel is located at the far end of the island, and there are only 3 buses a day that run to and from town, but this isn't a problem for people with a car or scooter. It's suitable for people who want peace and quiet, as the beach in front of the hostel is beautiful and tranquil, and there's a restaurant nearby that serves delicious local specialties.

If you're looking to escape mass tourism, you've come to the right place! This small hotel has six rooms, three of which face the ocean and one family room. The decor is simple, even a bit dated, but that's not what we were looking for. There's a shared kitchen available for everyone. A good, hearty breakfast is available for €10. There's an outdoor play area for children, and sun loungers, hammocks, and armchairs under the terrace for relaxing. It's 250 meters from the beach and a bar/restaurant (a 3-minute walk), but 5 km from the village and all other amenities. A very warm and friendly welcome awaits you.
