Lively nights at O’Regan’s

Opening hours: Monday – Wednesday from 10:30am – 11:30pm / Thursday from 10:30am – 12am / Friday – Saturday from 10:30am – 2:30am / Sunday from 10:30am – 12:30am
We’re starting off strong with the best pub in the city. Located in the heart of the city and adored by locals, this place will steal your heart the moment you step inside. Live music, vinyl DJ sets, and a perfectly poured pint await you. It’s a family-run spot, and you can feel it instantly. The staff know each other well, and even when the place is packed, they somehow make everyone feel welcome.
I especially fell in love with the cozy interior. It’s the kind of place where you happily spend the whole evening without noticing time passing. It’s exactly what I picture when I think of the perfect pub night, especially when a live band is playing. And while you can always safely choose a classic Guinness, get ready to enjoy amazing cocktails, hot drinks, and tasty light snacks too.
Social environment and great food at The Fumbally
Location: Fumbally Ln, The Liberties, Dublin 8, D08 HFF2, Ireland
Opening hours: Tuesday – Friday from 8am – 5pm / Saturday from 9am – 5pm / Sunday from 10am – 3pm
Locally roasted coffee and healthy yet delicious baked goods: what more could you ask for to kick-start your day on a high note? The best part: they happily accommodate everyone and genuinely care about their community. Thus, you’ll find gluten-free bread, plenty of vegan options, and a welcoming atmosphere for all.
They also organize wonderful and unique community projects that make you want to stay there all day. For example, on the last weekend of a month, they often offer their space for free to support local projects. Even if you’re not lucky enough to catch one of their events, I still highly recommend stopping by. The lunch options are tasty and quite affordable compared to traditional restaurants. The soup of the day changes daily, and paired with their sourdough bread, it’s the perfect meal to warm you up from the inside.
A true Cheap Eats spot is Soup Dragon Dublin
Location: Apartment 1, 168 Capel St, North City, Dublin 1, D01 V972, Ireland
Opening hours: Monday- Friday form 8:30am – 3pm
Here, the deli’s core mission shines through: to make and serve the most nutritious and delicious fresh soups and stews in Dublin every single day. Get ready for globally inspired bowls: hearty stews, flavorful curries, and a few tasty sandwiches and salads on the side. The best part? Everything is super affordable by Dublin standards, and there’s truly something for everyone. Meat lovers, vegetarians, and vegans alike. All dishes are prepared gluten- and dairy-free. Although it’s mainly designed as a takeaway spot, there are still a few seats both inside and outside if you want to enjoy your meal on the spot.
Cheap Eats deals at Irish Potato Cake Company Dublin
Location: 16 Bachelors Walk, Northside, Dublin, D01 KA66, Ireland
Opening hours: Sunday – Thursday from 9am – 4pm / Friday – Saturday from 9am – 10pm
Of course, you have to treat yourself to classic Irish cuisine at least once during your trip and the Irish Potato Cake Company is the perfect place to do so. Fried eggs, beans, sausages… all the comforting favorites. But the true star of the show is, unsurprisingly, the Irish potato cakes. I was honestly impressed by the coffee too. It tasted like something from a specialty café!
They offer a lunch deal and an Irish sharing platter, which not only saves you a few euros but also lets you try a tasty variety of small dishes. For the quality you get, the prices are fantastic and I can’t think of another spot that delivers this level of hearty, traditional food for so little.
Famous Irish Coffee from Vice Coffee Inc
Location: 54 Middle Abbey St, North City, Dublin 1, D01 E2X4, Ireland
Opening hours: Every day from 11am – 6pm
Last but definitely not least, the café that serves the best Irish coffee in the city. Whether you order it with or without alcohol, the coffee is genuinely delicious. They clearly know what they’re doing. They’ve even won awards for their Irish coffee, which just proves how good it really is! Yet somehow, it’s still not overly crowded, so you can usually snag a seat without stress. A true hidden gem tucked right into the city center.
The vibe is super cool too, since it’s part of a larger multi-purpose venue. And trust me: grab something to eat on the side. Both because the food is great and because it gives you a solid foundation for a long night in Dublin’s pubs.
