Famous Hostels announces 3 new locations
Launched in 1995 by five hostel entrepreneurs looking for a safe place to exchange experiences and promote their businesses, Famous Hostels now welcomes three new locations, expanding its reach to 56 hostels in top European locations.
New Famous Hostels Locations: Seville, Ibiza, and Dublin
Famous Hostels has added Seville, Ibiza, and Dublin to its map, now featuring 50 hostels across Europe and Israel.
Founded in 1995 as the “Famous Five,” the association came to light with European entrepreneurs exchanging letters(you have read that well) to share their business challenges, long before online booking platforms existed.
Nearly 30 years later, the association has grown significantly, identifying and awarding the best hostel in each of its 56 exciting European cities with the title of Famous Hostel.
Building a Trustworthy Network

For Members: Famous Hostels negotiates partnerships, organizes training sessions, and hosts infamous meetings where hostel staff from all over Europe gather for three days to share knowledge and enjoy some hostel-style fun.
For Guests: Guests benefit from a curated list of top hostels and exclusive deals, such as the Eco-Wanderer Program, which offers up to 20% discounts on bookings based on travelers’ CO2 emissions offset.

Becoming a Famous Hostel
To join Famous Hostels, each potential member undergoes a meticulous process. Hostels apply on the Famous Hostels page, followed by a detailed review of their online reputation, licenses, and overall performance. A team member visits the hostel to ensure consistency between online representations and reality. Once approved by the management team, the application is voted on by all members. This thorough process ensures a cohesive community that upholds high standards for guests and partners.
