Where to start
If you’re looking to get out and party, you should check out Cafedraal. This is a very hip bar and is a perfect place drink on your night out. The interiors are modern and stylish and the crowd is cool too.
Another place just a short walk away is De Garre. Located in a narrow street, this bar is great to drink your fill of beer. As the name suggests, they house the infamous ‘De Garre’, which is so potent that the bartenders recommend that you stop at 3 glasses. De garre is served with a portion of local cheese.
T’ Poatersgat for loud music and beer selection
It is a good place to party. If you love loud music, coupled with an elaborate beer selection and young crowds, this is the place for you.
Nocturne for cocktails, wines, and beer
Another amazing place for a night out in town. They have a large selection of cocktails, wines, and beer. This is a piano bar and interestingly enough, it is built in a cellar. Totally worth your while!
Cafedraal
After a few beers and cocktails you might feel the need to dance; that is the time you should hit this place. It’s a great to go shake a leg and meet interesting backpackers from every country you can think of.
Amongst other clubs, Bras Café and De Coulissen are places worth going. Bras Café is a slick bar which has quite the array of theme parties and fancy dress nights. These clubs are known for the music as DJs from all over the world come and play here.
You are not done with nightlife in Bruges until you have tried the local beers on Market Day
Bruges is a great town for beer lovers. If you want to taste a large variety of delicious brews, Bierbrasserie Cambrinus is where you should be.
Bierbrasserie has over 300 brews you can try and is quite reasonably priced too. The ambiance is warm and comfortable and the helpings of appetizers and main course are quite generous. This place is known for the Eels on toast and potato croquettes with apple sauce.
The Market is another place which is a good place for pub hopping and trying the local cuisines. Apart from restaurants, The Market also has vans which serve the best Frites you have ever tasted! Instead of going for regular ketchup, try having Frites with a gravy or sauce of your choice. They taste exceptionally good with mayonnaise too. If you want to experience Bruges at its best, go to The Market on Market Day which is on Wednesday every week. The beer and food are priced much lower on these days.
Just behind The Market is Eiermarkt, another place where you will find a number of cafés, restaurants and pubs to satisfy your thirst and hunger. The student café Pick is in this area and the Belfry Pub is located here too. If you’re looking to lounge outdoors, the Belfry Pub’s terrace what you should head for.
